What is true wealth? Is it a “number” that you need for success? A certain lifestyle? A curated home with love and great memories?

Whatever it may be, have you stopped to reflect on it and really think about true wealth?

Money as a Tool

True wealth can be getting what you want out of life and using your money to do so.

Money is just a tool, and it’s pointless unless used. Without a clear destination we usually choose society’s chosen barometer – more.

True Wealth Defined

In many client conversations, there have been several dimensions of wealth that keep appearing. They are:

  • Financial stability
  • Health
  • Relationships
  • Personal Freedom

Financial Stability

Financial stability is not about a certain number. It’s about having financial security and knowing when you have “enough.” When you use your resources in the right way to enhance your life. Also, it’s ensuring that the money you worked so hard for works as hard for you after you’ve accumulated it.

Health

This is an important one. Once your health is gone, no amount of money can buy it back. Health has many facets – mental sharpness, physical strength, and spiritual wellbeing. You can engage in life with these three and feel good about it. Without health, a lot of other things in life lose their luster.

Relationships

Connections are so important. We are wired for them. Family ties, longtime friends, and a community are all a part of a healthy social life. The quality of these aspects, not how much money we have, often determine the quality of our lives.

Personal Freedom

This one is sometimes forgotten about. Personal freedom is about shaping your life how you want. You do work that excites you instead of draining you. There’s a great ability to craft your day how you like. You can live where you want and do what you want to do. There are many other possibilities. The freedom is yours to define.

Putting It All Together

All four of these aspects of true wealth are all connected. They make life beautiful. Remember, it’s not about accumulation, but living a “good life.”
